Second Childhood

"Those were the days."
Considering I'm not aware of different styles before and my mother would dress me up for any occasion, I'd say nothing feels greater than looking back and realizing you have developed a style of your own. Those were the days indeed, the days when I let my mother decide for my outfit, the days when I'd throw on almost anything and not just bother. Now, I am the complete opposite of myself seven years ago. I decide what I wear without my mother's help and have become more strict with my style, clearly not the "throw on almost anything" type. Anyway, I wanted to do a throwback as how I remembered kids dressed during my time or the ones that came before me, thus the title "Second Childhood". Just give it to me, I just wanna feel like a kid again.

As I was scanning photos in my computer I stumbled upon this outfit, which I thought is really cute but I was not able to share. This outfit is super (duper) late, as this was worn during the earlier part of the year. I could still remember I wanted to channel a preppy kid who's about to go to school, probably around ages six to seven. If only I dressed up like this back in the days, I'd probably consider myself the cutest (lol!). If you have been a follower of this blog you know very well I love to take reference of outfits from years back. I've been so into preppy during this time, thus  the outfit. I wore this simple stripe shirt, and overlaid it to the peter pan collared top for added "preppy" effect. The collared top did change the whole vibe of this look, making it more kid-like. Kept the color on the neutrals, so I went for these Navy Blue shorts. I don't usually wear shorts, but given I wanted to really play the part I just went for it. Finished everything with the white socks and creepers combo, went with the black and white pair to match the socks and for added "cuteness" effect. Though, I'm not really all for looking cute, this one I just had to exempt. Lastly, love how mature the colors are but still has that youthful vibe to it.
