Fortunate Dead

"My heart buried in a dead man's chest."
If you still haven't figured it out, I post outfits later than they should be. So, this should be no surprise to you. Anyway, this outfit was worn mid of August during our Acquaintance Party (although, this is not how I exactly looked like that day). It was crazy because everybody played the part, everybody was in their Day of the Dead outfits and face paints (Dia de los Muertos was the theme of the party). It was a blast to see everybody get crazy than they normally are. I'll post a photo of how I exactly looked that day at the end of this post.
Finally! Had my little "Clueless" plaid-on-plaid moment that day, though it's in black and white and in checkered, still. This wasn't actually the outfit I initially thought of but since the lace fabric here is too expensive and the cheaper ones look awful, I had to have a plan B and this was it. Well, still happy of how it came to be. If you might ask, everything in this look (except for the shoes of course!) is custom-made. Moreover, I didn't want to go all too festive with the colors despite the theme being a festival, had to go with the "dead" since it's their day after all. So, black and white is the way to go. Decided to go for a black and white checkered print because it's how festive I can go, with the whites adding a little color to the look, it works as an effect to the dead color. Went for a sheer shirt gown to make it even more dark and "dead" appropriate. Well, if you've seen the pattern together with my last post, adding something sheer as an overlay will help your look from it's low state. It will add more appeal as it reveals what's underneath but still somehow (technically, not) conceals everything. I am just really in love with this look, it has this Gothic and preppy appeal. A fusion of Wednesday Addams and Cher's fashion into one, might I say.

Here's the whole look during the party. With the face paint, the flower crown, and the black veil, don't I look creepily-different?
